In 2021 we have increased our photovoltaic solar energy park. From 700 m2 to 10,100 m2, thanks to the installation of 4,710 solar panels. We want more clean and renewable energy.
We want a sustainable future, we believe that solar energy is one of the keys to achieving it.
SOLAR PANELS
In the third quarter of 2021, the new solar panel plant began operation at M.F. Avinyó, with the installation of 3,300 panels. During the first months of operation, we were able to reduce our annual electricity consumption by 5% in comparison to 2020, pointing to a potential yearly reduction of 15%. This would likewise mean an emission reduction of 697 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
We continue to bet on cleaner and more renewable energy with the expansion of our photovoltaic solar energy park, going from 702 m² to 2000 m².
We installed 800 m² of solar panels on our Mujal farm (RBS) able to generate 30% of the farm’s electricity, thus cutting CO₂ emissions by 26 tonnes, equivalent to planning 1,602 trees.
We made an initial installation of 1,500 m² of solar panels at Matadero Frigorífico Avinyó to generate 1% of the energy it consumes.
