2024
Like any industry, our company generates industrial waste, which can be managed in two ways:
– Valorization: The waste is reused or recycled to give it a new purpose, thus reducing its environmental impact.
– Elimination: When waste cannot be reused or recycled, it must be sent to a landfill, which creates a greater environmental impact.
In both cases, management is carried out through authorized companies.
At Grup d’Avinyó, we have focused on waste valorization by enhancing its separation processes and exploring new waste management and treatment alternatives. Thanks to this effort, the percentage of valorized waste has increased from 88% in 2020 to 95% in 2024.
2019
Since 2019, our sliced packaging has been available on the market, reducing plastic use by up to 75%.
2018
Our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable production is steadfast. That’s why at Grup d’Avinyó, we appointed an Environmental Manager for all the companies in the group. This key figure ensures the sustainable management of waste, packaging, water, and energy.
2004
Our companies, Matadero Frigorífico Avinyó, Conservas Ausa, and Catalana de Embutidos, joined Ecoembes to report the packaging generated by national sales each year. This packaging management system is transparent and verified by both Ecoembes and the auditing and consulting firm Audra.
