ORGANIC AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT
We manage our 171 hectares of farmland by strictly following organic agricultural production standards, without the use of pesticides and with respect for the environment. Every year, we cultivate up to 10 different species, rotating them annually across different fields. This helps preserve soil resources and minimize the occurrence of diseases and pests.
Our organic production practices increase the diversity of plant and animal species on our farms, surpassing the biodiversity found in other areas of the municipality. By not using herbicides or insecticides, the variety of plants and insects in our fields and their borders is much greater than in conventional farms.
This, in turn, attracts more animals that feed on these plants and insects, such as birds, reptiles, and mammals (deer, wild boar, badgers, foxes, etc.), turning our farms into true natural reserves of biodiversity. This diversity strengthens the ecosystem, making it more resilient to changes, including those caused by climate change, and improving our future adaptability.

HOW WE CONTRIBUTE TO FOREST REJUVENATION AND FIRE RISK REDUCTION
Grup d’Avinyó manages two large agricultural and forestry estates in the municipality of Avinyó (Bages), covering a total of 519 hectares (equivalent to 700 football fields). Of these, 348 hectares are forested, and are integrated into forest management plans that allow for cleaning and organization. This ensures that the forests remain clean and contain trees of various ages, preventing aging and promoting natural renewal.
Additionally, both estates are grazed by herds of cows and sheep, which help control the underbrush. This simultaneous management serves two purposes: it fertilizes the forest soil and significantly reduces the fire risk throughout the area.
